Who said that only ponies with music-related cutie marks could form a band? These five will rock the stage for sure! 
I wanted to do a remake of an older one of my own pics, mostly to challenge my drawing skills and to see if I got any better since then. But I didn't want to do just a lame JJ-Abrams-type remake like "copy the old thing and beef up the visuals". The new pic should be centering around the same theme, but otherwise be a completely independent thing. Plus, I'm terrible at drawing lens flares.
The choice for what to re-draw fell on A Band of Six Friends, which was made in early April. My love for 70's and 80's Hard Rock and Prog Rock - especially bands like Deep Purple, Dire Straits or Jethro Tull - made me push the new band in this direction. For those 99% among you who aren't into this sort of music, the title of this picture is actually the title of one of the more famous albums by Jethro Tull.

Kind of reminds me of the band from the game, Super Mario Odyssey. The only differences is that there was no keyboard and the flute was a trumpet instead. Regardless, Rainbow, Derpy and their friends seem to be rocking it on their instruments. Overall, this is an awesome art piece.
But, you know who Deep Purple are? Cool, I listened to a couple of their songs and I thought they sounded pretty good. Smoke on the Water is my favorite song from them.
